Custom woodworking shop located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn area is looking to hire an experienced working foreman. 1. Key responsibilities: lead daily shop operations by assigning tasks, directing workflow, and keeping production on schedule, supervise and mentor shop staff, providing guidance, training, and support, perform and oversee quality control to ensure all work meets drawings, specifications, and craftsmanship standards, operate and maintain woodworking machinery and ensure tools are safe, calibrated, and ready for use, review drawings and coordinate with project manager to clarify details and resolve production issues, monitor materials and inventory, pull stock for jobs, and communicate shortages, enforce shop safety standards and maintain a clean, organized, OSHA-compliant work environment, troubleshoot production challenges and keep workflow moving efficiently, 2. Qualifications: 5+ years of millwork or cabinetmaking experience, including hands-on fabrication, prior leadership or foreman experience in a shop environment, strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, tools, joinery, and fabrication techniques, ability to read and interpret shop drawings with precision, excellent communication and team-leadership skills. – commitment to safety and quality craftsmanship.
